The Coachella Valley Firebirds are a professional hockey team what are featured in the American Hockey League (AHL) as its 32nd franchise. The team is based in the Coachella Valley region of California and play its home games at the Acrisure Arena. The Firebirds are affiliated with the NHL's Seattle Kraken and will serve as the team's official minor league affiliate. The goal of the Firebirds organization is to develop talent, both on and off the ice, and to provide an entertaining and community-focused hockey experience. The Firebirds will be the first professional sports team in the Coachella Valley and will bring a level of entertainment not previously seen in the region. The team is committed to having a positive impact on the community and supporting existing programs, as well as expanding the exposure of hockey to underserved areas. The Firebirds will also be affiliated with the ECHL's Kansas City Mavericks starting in the 2022-23 season.

The Berger Foundation Iceplex is a state-of-the-art ice sports facility located in the Coachella Valley region of California. With a 250-seat NHL-sized rink, four locker rooms, two party rooms, and a mezzanine area with concessions, it offers a range of amenities for athletes and visitors alike. As the official training center for the Coachella Valley Firebirds hockey team, the Iceplex is a hub for top-level sports performance. It is also open to the public for skating sessions, hockey and skating programs, tournaments, and special events such as DJ Skate nights and the Frozen 5k. In addition, the facility is available for private rentals for tournaments, broomball, corporate events, and other special occasions.
